Cora White, founding Badger Rock Neighborhood Center Director, has announced her long-planned retirement from the Center for Resilient Cities staff effective August 5, 2016. Cora has had a long and distinguished career in Madison which was recognized with the Sally Sunde Family Advocate Award from Community Shares of Wisconsin last September. We are grateful to Cora for her vision and tenacity in making the Badger Rock Center, and especially the Neighborhood Center, a reality.

Those of you who know Cora personally know she never “retires” for long. True to form, she will retain a volunteer role with our organization, assisting Board President Joe Sensenbrenner with  the fundraising for Phase 2.

At our organization’s 20th birthday celebration in May, we honored Cora by renaming the Neighborhood Center Cafe’ after her. So stop by for a cup of coffee this fall – you never know who you might find there!
