We’ve Merged!

Center for Resilient Cities and Community GroundWorks have merged!

Rooted merges the strengths of two vibrant Madison organizations. Now, we continue our work together.

Our Mission: Collaborations rooted in food, land, and learning.

Our programs that create spaces to gather, learn and grow, and feed families will be even stronger. We are committed to collaborations that enable people to grow and thrive in healthy, equitable, and sustainable neighborhoods. As Rooted, we look forward to implementing new, community-dreamed programs, while still holding the programs that you have helped us build.

Rooted has the same staff, locations, and programs, with one exception. Marcia Caton Campbell, CRC’s Executive Director, is now the Executive Director of Rooted, and Karen von Huene, CGW’s Executive Director, has retired. Congratulations, Karen, and enjoy your well-deserved free time!

Badger Rock Neighborhood Center, Farm, and Community Gardens are still on the South Side at 501 E. Badger Rd. Troy Gardens, Troy Farm and Farmstand, and Pizza Nights are still on the Northside at 502 Troy Drive. Rooted remains the community partner for the UW-Madison’s School for Urban Agriculture, offering workshop and internship opportunities during the growing season at both of our locations.

Rooted’s administrative offices have been consolidated at 2702 International Lane, Suite 200, Madison, WI, 53204, P: 608-240-0409.

We look forward to continuing our work with you, and we are grateful for all who share our unwavering belief that, to grow and thrive, we must be Rooted in community.
